Dining Out the Democratic Way with Lunchwalla
Next time you dine out with friends why not vote on where to eat?
The internet continues to roll out innovative and exciting methods of marketing. I recently learned of Lunchwalla, a new site where you can invite your friends to dine with you, list a few favorite local dining options, then wait for your friends to ‘vote’ on the winner where you all will meet. Very clever.
The site, which is free to use, has a number of nifty features. Lunchwalla users can access Yelp reviews and make Open Table reservations right from the Lunchwalla site. Lunchwalla also let’s you use Facebook Connect, a tool that Facebook provides that allows its users to authorize websites like Lunchwalla to integrate with your Facebook account.
While Lunchwalla is designed more with the diner in mind, if you are a business owner, you can still use the system to invite your friends and customers to your restaurant for special events, Girls and Guys Night Out, Happy Hour or any other marketing idea you dream up.
In reviewing Lunchwalla, the site appears to combine all the best elements of Evite, Open Table and Yelp into one service. Add to that the smart voting option and you have a site that makes the question of where to dine interactive, democratic and just plain fun.
Cheers!
